先週の金曜日のディズニーシーでの夕食は、ホライズンベイ・レストランでのキャラクターダイニングでした。ディズニーのキャラクターたちがお席まで挨拶に来てくれるタイプのレストランです。これまでは行ってみたいなと思いつつ、なかなか予約できなかったんですが、Webからの当日予約ができまして、初めての体験となったのでした。場所はポートディスカバリーです。
I had dinner at Horizon Bay Restaurant last Friday. It was Character Dinning, Disney Characters come to tables and guests can have greeting during meal. I had wanted to come there for long time but I had not be able to make a reservation. However on last Friday, I finally could have reservation on the day! It is at Port Discovery area.
このレストラン、入って左半分は予約のいらないバフェテリア形式、右半分がキャラクターダイニングになっています。入り口が分かれていますので、今回は意気揚々と右に進みました。予約名や時間を聞かれ、一旦店内の列に並びます。客席をのぞいてみると、おー、プルートが見えますね。
Left half of this restaurant is Cafeteria style, and no reservation required. Right half is Character Dining, reservation required. There are 2 entrance, and I went to right door. After I said my name and reservation time to a cast member, and lined the queue inside the restaurant. I could see Pluto was greeting around tables.
食事はセットメニューになっています。大人3020円で、サラダ/デザート/スープから2つ、メイン料理を1つ、パンかライス、ソフトドリンクを選ぶことができます。アルコールはありません。サラダとデザートは目の前に並んでいる実物から自分のほしいものをピックアップ、他はカウンターのキャストの方にオーダーします。私は、シーザーサラダとコーンチャウダー、メインはビーフシチュー、パンと温かい紅茶にしました。結構ボリューミー！お子様メニューもあります。
Menu is course meal. 3020 JPY for one adult. It contains any 2 from salad/desert/soup, 1 main course, bread or rice, and soft drink. No alcohol served. As for salads and deserts, Guests can choose real dishes at the counter. Others, guests need to order. I selected Caesar salad, corn chowder, beef stew, bread and hot tea. Kid menu is also available.
ここでようやくお席へ。利用時間は60分と案内があり、退出時間が書かれたカードが席に置かれました。60分って短そうに思えましたが、実際はちょうどいいくらい。ブッフェみたいに何度も料理を取りに行ったりしないからかな。とりあえずご飯を食べていると、程なくしてキャラクターたちがお席にやってきました。
Then I got to a table. The time limit is 60 min. I thought it is too short first, but finally I realized it was good enough. While I was eating meal, Characters came.
ここで会えたのは、ミッキー、ミニー、プルートでした。必ずキャストの方がついているので、ご家族連れでも全員が入った写真が撮れますね。写真は何枚も撮ってもよいですし、間近でミッキーとミニーがいちゃいちゃしてたりしますし、通常のグリーティングよりもたくさん触れ合える感じがします。（ミートミッキーのような通常のグリーティングではひとつのグループで1枚しか写真が撮れないのです。海外ディズニーでは枚数の制限がないので、日本人が海外でははしゃいでグリーティング三昧になっちゃうのはしょうがないのかも。私も興奮しちゃいましたし。）
Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Pluto came to my table. As at least one cast member supported one Character, guests could have group photo easily. The big advantage of Character Dining is guest can take several pictures. Because, at Tokyo Disney Resort, guests can take only 1 picture for 1 group at Character greeting generally. Thus Character Dining is good for big fans! I think this is the reason why Japanese fans are very excited to greet Characters at Overseas Disney Parks.
料理もしっかり食べられ、ミッキーにも会えたし、ホライズンベイ・レストランはなかなか楽しいところでした！ただし、、、大変なのは予約です。公式サイトからプライオリティー・シーティングの事前受付をします。とても人気があるので、予約開始時刻ちょうどにポチっとするか、またはちょいちょいページを開いてみてキャンセルされたところを狙うか、になるかと思います。今回は後者で、当日何度か予約画面を開いてみてたら1つだけ空きが出たので、予約をしました。ラッキーでした。
The meal was good and I could meet Mickey Mouse. I had good time at Horizon Bay Restaurant:) However, the difficulty of the restaurant is...reservations. Priority Seating must be booked in advance from official web site. It is only available in Japanese language. It is very much popular, quicker action at exactly start time of reservation is highly recommended. Or let's check availability often and book once there is canceled slot. In my case, when I opened web site several times on the day, I happened to find one slot available! Lucky!
